Christina Rosetti

In the poem Goblin Market I get the sense that Laura is the older sister to Lizzie. I get this by the fact that Laura trys to disuade Lizzie from going to the goblin men and warns he that they have already been told before not to approach the goblin men. Even after Laura telling Lizzie that she must not answer the goblin mens call Lizzie disobeys and goes to them. Then Laura almosts feels like its her duty to her sister to try and save her from this curse which is something an older sister would do. The 'sisterly love' through the peom is strong and in parts we see it under straign. The poem almost has a moral ending that "there is no friend like a sister" and almost that family and sisterly bonds essecially are so strong they cant be broken.
